Trigger Slack and Drift messages for failure events

Failure events, from a 500 error or a failed sign-up attempt, are occasionally part of the customer experience. In this recipe, we'll help you react to failure events when they happen. We will send a notification into a Slack room and trigger a targeted message with Drift.


1. Set up your trigger

Build a Plainflow segment to specify the events that users should have performed. In this case, we want to enroll all users who have performed at least one failure event in the last 30 seconds.


2. Log an Event to Drift

Here, we will set up triggers to proactively support customers in case they need help. Trigger a zap on Zapier that will log an event to your Drift. In Drift, you will create a dynamic segment that will use the event as the trigger criteria to display a targeted message to all users who encountered a failure event.


3. Send a Slack notification

Send a notification to your #failure-event on Slack reminding your customer support team that a new user has encountered a failure event while using your product.
